I’m honoured to have two of my paintings featured in the juried exhibition “Nostalgia: Chasing Yesterday,” presented by the Alberta Society of Artists and currently on view at the Western GM Drumheller Gallery from October 1–31, 2025.

This thoughtfully curated exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the emotional pull of the past—how memories, moments, and sensory experiences can trigger a longing for what once was. Whether abstract or representational, each work explores nostalgia in its many forms, and how those reflections continue to shape us.

My two selected pieces—Happiness, Right Here and This Moment, Forever—both explore the enduring emotional bond between children and animals. These works are rooted in memory and feeling: quiet moments of connection, belonging, and joy that continue to echo through time.

Happiness, Right Here is more than a painting; it’s a memory... a return to the kind of joy that lives quietly inside us. When I create work like this, I’m remembering who I was—fully alive, entirely myself, surrounded by the kind of love that needed no explanation.

This Moment, Forever is a love letter to the kind of joy that shaped me… moments I hold closest: fragments of the past that still echo in who I am today. Some memories don’t fade—they become part of us.

I also had the pleasure of traveling to Drumheller to help install the exhibition—a process that gave me a deeper appreciation for the care and collaboration behind it. Many thanks to the Alberta Society of Artists and the Drumheller Public Library for making this meaningful show possible.
