I’m honoured to share that two of my paintings are included in “Finding Joy in a Dystopian World,” a juried exhibition presented by the Alberta Society of Artists. The exhibition is on view at the Crowsnest Pass Public Art Gallery from October 4 to November 2, 2025, and invites artists across Alberta to reflect on the quiet light that persists in difficult times.

The curatorial theme poses a timely and powerful question: In a world often marked by hardship and uncertainty, how do we still find hope? What moments or memories remind us of joy, softness, and resilience?

My two featured paintings—Gentle Hearts and A Moment in the Sun—speak to this search for light through the lens of empathy, trust, and connection. Each painting is a tribute to the gentler truths we carry within us, and how they continue to shine even when the world feels heavy.

She doesn’t see a farm animal. She sees a friend... Gentle Hearts captures the innocence of a child’s love for a creature so often misunderstood.

A Moment in the Sun reflects a fragile peace... a golden pause when joy lingers, even amid uncertainty.

The opening reception was held on October 4, and I’m deeply grateful to the Alberta Society of Artists and the Crowsnest Pass Public Art Gallery for hosting this thoughtful and moving exhibition. It’s a reminder that even in moments of struggle, joy remains—quiet, powerful, and worth holding onto. If you’re in the area, I invite you to visit before it closes on November 2.
