On Saturday, August 16, I had the pleasure of participating in the Artpoint Open House—a vibrant day of art, conversation, and community. Although I don’t have a studio at Artpoint, I’m proud to be a juried member, and I was honoured to be offered a large space to display a selection of my paintings for the day.

From 11am to 4pm, the space filled with visitors exploring the building and engaging with artists throughout the gallery. It was a joy to meet so many thoughtful and curious guests, to share my work, and to speak about the creative process behind it. These kinds of exchanges remind me of why I do what I do—and how powerful it can be when art creates connection.

What made the day even more meaningful was the quiet support behind the scenes. My beloved dog, Leo, was ill at the time, and stepping away—even briefly—was incredibly hard. Thanks to the care of my family, I was able to attend the event knowing he was in loving hands. Looking back, I’m grateful I found the strength to show up. The warmth of the community that day gave me a sense of comfort I didn’t know I needed.

Thank you to Artpoint Gallery & Studios Society for hosting such a beautiful event, and to everyone who visited my space. Your presence, your words, and your kindness meant more than you know.
