Cats, as predators, like to understand their environment well. Climbing is a natural behaviour for cats and getting to a high vantage point helps them get a better view of their surroundings. It’s really easy for cats to climb up—their claws are the ideal tools for propelling them upwards. But once up there, they realize that getting down is much more difficult than getting up, and usually help is needed to bring them down.
