There's no place safer than a mother's embrace.
Rhesus macaques are Asian, Old World monkeys. Their social groups are arranged around dominant matriarchs, and a female's rank is decided by the rank of her mother. Worldwide, rhesus monkeys are primarily used as experimental animals in infection research, drug development and brain research. Some of these experimentations include: the development of rabies, smallpox, and polio vaccines; the discovery of Rh factor in blood, creation of drugs to manage HIV/AIDS, and the development of vaccines for COVID-19. These primates also preceded humans into space.
