There is an innate bond between children and animals, a bond that helps nurture their sense of empathy and compassion as they grow. Children love animals and value them unconditionally, not because of how they can benefit our lives or what they provide for us, but simply because they are living creatures. The joy in this little girl’s face brought back memories of my own childhood: going on adventures to find new “friends,” losing track of time, and cherishing every second. Pure joy! This painting is a reminder of many happy childhood moments that only exist in my memory.
